Dioxin is the common name used to refer to the chemical 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin or TCDD. In addition to dioxin itself there are other compounds, such as the polychlorinated dibenzodioxins (PCDDs), polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) and some polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), that have similar structures and activity as dioxin. These are often commonly referred to as dioxin-like compounds or "dioxins".

Nowadays, there several ways assaying the dioxins.CGC/HRMS, immunoassay, and bioassay techniques all give sensitive measures of dioxin-like compounds. CGC/HRMS, the traditional method, provides sub parts per trillion sensitivity, is expensive, and is the only way to accurately measure concentrations of individual dioxin, furan, and PCB compounds. Rugged immunoassays can be adapted to field studies, especially where rapid answers are needed on-site. Bioassays can accurately measure low toxic equivalence quotient (TEQ) (see sidebar, ^What are TEQs and TEFs? ̄) levels of dioxin, furan, and PCB with very high throughput and low cost.

Our labratory for dioxin assay provides a new way assaying the dioxins. It is easier and cheaper than these tradional way.It can reachs the level of fg/L.We are great if any of you are interested in it and contact with us.
